About the role 

We’re looking for a hands-on Lead Developer (Frontend - React) to help drive the migration of the Protecht.ERM platform from legacy GWT/GXT to a modern React/TypeScript stack. This project will utilise cutting edge AI to help with migration. Additionally, working with other engineering team to develop new complex features, and help set standards for our frontend architecture, code quality and tooling. 

You’ll collaborate closely with backend engineers, designers and product managers, and play a key role in mentoring other frontend engineers and lifting frontend capability across the team. This role is ideal for someone who wants to stay deeply technical while also shaping how a frontend team works, collaborates, and delivers. 

What you’ll do 

  • Leading design and delivery of complex, high-quality user-facing features in a modern web application, using React and TypeScript. 

  • Spending the majority of your time hands-on coding, with a smaller but meaningful focus on team leadership and mentorship. 

  • Working closely with product, design, and engineering peers to turn ideas into polished, scalable solutions. 

  • Raising the bar for frontend quality through thoughtful architecture, testing, and code reviews. 

  • Helping evolve frontend standards, patterns, and best practices across the team. 

  • Participate in design discussions, peer reviews and technical decision-making. 

  • Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, pairing and knowledge sharing. 

What we’re looking for 

  • Strong commercial experience building large-scale frontend applications.

  • Deep expertise in modern React, JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks and component-based UI development.

  • Deep understanding of frontend architecture, component design, state management and routing. 

  • Experience component libraries and frontend theming. 

  • Solid experience writing and maintaining unit and snapshot tests. 

  • A passion for clean code, maintainability, and user experience. 

  • Proven ability to mentor other engineers and influence frontend standards and direction.
